The range is narrow in color and wide in character — gray-green through charcoal, with veining from faint drift to near-marble — and the vein is where most of the decision sits. Lots do not repeat. It comes out of small workings, so commit the job in a single order from a single block where the veining is doing real work, and keep the offcut a repair will want. The same slab reads differently wet, dry, oiled or bare, so confirm from material in hand, in the state it will be kept.

Ask the fabricator before specifying. Shops built around granite and quartz do not all run soft stone, and those that do treat it as a different craft. Agree edge profile, sink detail and layout with that shop before slabs are committed. It rarely reaches production work, where a reproducible sample governs approval and nothing here is reproducible; it earns its place in custom kitchens where a single client makes the call and accepts a surface that changes. Reserve early: well-veined material moves, and there is no reorder.
