Basalt slabs in Las Vegas
43 basalt slab listings, 14 of them in stock right now, alongside 1 materials in the range. Every listing carries its own photographs and availability; measured slabs show their real sizes.
Basalt moves in small lots and the range skews black and gray, so a scope needing a continuous field — island and perimeter, or a floor of any size — has to be reserved in full while matching material lasts. It reads as an even, fine-grained field rather than a pattern, which makes tone unforgiving: a warm black and a blue-black mismatch visibly at every joint, where granite’s movement would absorb the difference. Approve the actual slabs side by side; in a dark scheme that is the decision.
A fabricator’s opening questions are format and thickness. Much of what sells as basalt comes thinner than granite, or as gauged tile and paver rather than slab, which governs edge build-up, support at cutouts and whether a mitered edge is possible. Confirm absorption before the family is specified for an outdoor kitchen or a pool surround; it is more variable than its volcanic reputation suggests, and hard water marks it. Dark polished stone in desert sun is too hot for barefoot areas — flamed, brushed and tumbled finishes are the outdoor answer.
