What is bought is a production batch, not a block, and batches are finite. Slabs from a batch match each other more closely than lots of natural stone, making layout predictable — but when a batch sells through, the reissue can sit slightly off in ground tone or chip density. Take the full scope off a single batch, with a spare panel put aside for repair, not sourced afterward. What reaches this market leans toward what commercial and hospitality work absorbs, so a bolder residential brief chooses from a narrower field and should commit early.

Name the binder before asking a price: resin-bound and cement-bound slabs cut, polish and seal differently, and a quote for resin will not hold for cement. The exposed cut is the surprise. A miter, waterfall or built-up apron slices through the chips, and that sawn face reads coarser and paler than the polish beside it. Ask for a finished edge sample in the actual mix before drawings are approved, and place seams against a sightline: a uniform field gives a joint nothing to hide behind.
